WWE: 6 Simple Ways To Make Dolph Ziggler A Main Eventer

2. Make Him More Than A Show Off

As a Dolph Ziggler fan, I must confess that his promos need more depth. It sometimes feels like he's all worked up and has been waiting to get his chance on the mic, but there's only enough time for the one-dimensional sound bites that are considered crucial by management. "Just say you're going to show off, Dolph!" There are only so many ways for him to say it, and he's tried them all. It's a great gimmick when you're first introducing a new character, because it's simple and easy to demonstrate during a match. He won people over with just that tagline and a lot of amazing wrestling. Now it's time to go deeper. Using the earlier point about ripping his story from the headlines will help tremendously. It's the "mad as hell and not going to take it anymore" approach that speaks to people who've also been wronged by their bosses but have no power to retaliate. And it's a different story than that of Daniel Bryan, who fans perceived to be "buried" but was showcased several times on every show. If you can get fans to feel SOMETHING €“ be it sympathy, anger, or excitement €“ whenever Dolph is on TV, his excellent wrestling skills will be enhanced by a compelling character. People used to cheer for Dolph because every night he proved that he was worthy of a title, and when he finally cashed in, it felt good for everyone. His reasons for being much more than a show off are ripe for the picking.
