WWE: 6 Ways To Replace The Undertaker's Streak

3. A New 'Streak'

In 2002 at WrestleMania X8, Undertaker beat Ric Flair for his 10th straight WM victory. Afterward, he sat on the ring apron and counted to 10 on his fingers. It was the first time he (and the announcers) really played up the idea that Taker was undefeated at WrestleMania. Think about that. It took 10 years before it was really acknowledged as a streak, and it wasn't until three years later that it became something to break (Randy Orton instead became victim #13). Building a new streak would be extremely difficult. You would need to establish a superstar and have him win every year. Sounds easy on paper, but think about it in practice. Which guys have the longest winning streaks behind Taker? Edge was 5-0 at one point. RVD is 4-0 right now. Given WWE's predisposition toward 50/50 booking however, this is unlikely to happen. Seriously, is there anyone on the current roster who is even 2-0 at WrestleMania right now? A new streak would literally take years to build up.
