Nothing can get a live crowd going wild like a solid debut for a new wrestler. During the Monday Night Wars, crowds would go nuts when a new worker would jump from WCW to WWE or from ECW to WCW. However, with the loss of competition, WWE has been forced to think up different ways for new wrestlers to get over with fans. A few times, that means putting titles on them during their debut matches. There is some debate as to whether this tactic is smart or not. Having a guy win a title his first match out could make the crowd view him as an instant superstar and someone to be respected moving forward. However, it could also cause a collective groan amongst the people and the backlash to the new wrestler will dig him a hole he might never recover from.
