What's great about the Tough Enough concept is that WWE can do it the way they want. They can pick 10 to 12 wrestlers to start the show that are already under WWE contract. Perhaps they will just pick people they've already signed or maybe they will add some that they sign in the near future. The point is that WWE has control over what kind of performer they want to make a star based off Tough Enough. Then they can put that person on NXT to help them grow and eventually to Raw & Smackdown where the bigger audience can get used to that person. Part of the problem with the previous edition of Tough Enough was it was hard to know what WWE was looking for. Did they only want a taller wrestler to win or did they have to make a choice to appease USA Network? There could have been outside forces in play. We don't know. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KGOI-KA3dE There was likely a reluctance on WWE's part to do the show again because it's not like any of the Tough Enough winners became huge stars although John Morrison did come very close. At least a runner up like The Miz headlined a WrestleMania. That's something to brag about, right? Since they have the facility to do it plus a developmental TV show like NXT, they are better prepared to make the Tough Enough winner a bigger deal than all the others that preceded him or her. It was smart for WWE to announce the show is coming to WWE Network. Fans will pay attention to it because of its history and hopefully WWE will build somebody up the right way to become a bankable star for years to come.
