WWE: 7 Things Wrestling Fans Should Say To Haters

1. It's Scripted Like Many Other Forms Of Entertainment

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQxPyqgliik "We know it's scripted, but so are movies, TV shows, live theatre and even reality TV." It's come down to this. The big one. We all have those people in our lives that point out that the reason wrestling is stupid is that they're out there pretending to fight. My response is? "I know that. So what?" Then they really don't know what to say other than that it's stupid. Movies are scripted. TV shows are scripted. Even the reality shows are scripted. What's funny is fans of reality shows don't think it's scripted as much as it really is. They buy into the stories just like wrestling fans do. Live theatre is one of the oldest forms of entertainment going back to the ancient Greeks and that's scripted too. Wrestling is live theatre that takes place inside of a squared circle with ropes, turnbuckles and screaming fans that paid money to watch it in person. Why? Because it's fun. If somebody has fun watching something, leave them alone. There are dozens of singing competition shows on TV. I have no interest in watching them, but obviously some people are watching them because they like them so more power to them. It's not up to us what to tell others what to watch and not watch. Watch what you enjoy whether that's a horror movie or a comedy TV show. If you enjoy it, that's all that really matters. Watch that clip with Steve Austin and The Rock from 2001. Two hated rivals that had dozens of great matches over the years. They spent over 10 minutes doing ridiculous trash talk while singing. It was hilarious. It was silly too, but it was funny and you could hear 15,000 responding to everything they did along the way. This idea that the haters think we're going to stop watching just because they say it's "fake" is just silly. Don't they know that we laugh at them for being so out of the loop for thinking this way? Smarten up, haters. Think of some new material. Or better yet, don't be so egotistical that you think you can tell others what they can and can't like. Fans of wrestling are who they are because of a passion for the business they love to watch. If you're a fan of wrestling, try watching it with a hater. Educate them. If they don't have any interest that's fine. Chances are if they understand it better they might become a fan too. They'll never know until they try it.
