WWE: 7 Ways Dean Ambrose Will Emerge From The Shield Breakup

6. As A Modern Day "Loose Cannon" Like Brian Pillman

Whenever we watch current wrestlers we always try to compare them to performers from the past. The name that comes to mind whenever I watch Ambrose is Brian Pillman. It's not the "Flyin' Brian" version of Pillman that was in WCW either. It's the "Loose Cannon" that showed up towards the end of his WCW run, then during his brief stint in ECW where he riled up the fans better than anybody and then in WWE where he continued his unpredictable behavior. What made Pillman work so well was that he would say and do things that legitimately freaked people out. There was nothing off limits from him. When Ambrose did his promo on Raw this past week where he talked about re-arranging Rollins' face by ripping his nose and putting it by his ear it made us scratch our heads, but it also made us pay attention. This guy might be crazy. Let's cheer for him. He knows how to get us going. Another character that Ambrose reminds me of is Heath Ledger's Joker from the Dark Knight film, which is one of my favorite films ever. There was something special about his mannerisms, facial expressions and speaking delivery that made him such an iconic movie character. Ambrose has incorporated some of that into his act too. It's a smart move on his part. A character like Pillman's would work really well in today's WWE just as long as Vince McMahon and the creative team really let him loose. Ambrose has the skills to make it work.
