1. John Cena Fails To Beat Ryback, Extreme Rules 2013
Ok, so Cena could beat Brock Lesnar at Extreme Rules 2012, but he couldn't overcome Ryback a year later at Extreme Rules 2013? The fact Ryback was in a WWE title match was shocking in itself, the fact it went 23 minutes was a further and unpleasant shock. This just wasn't very good, Ryback's heel character was nowhere near over enough, his physical style just wasn't built for long matches. Cena tried his best to make things work, WWE helping them out by having a 'Last Man Standing' stipulation. The bout just couldn't get interest, no matter what short-cuts were attempted, fans saw through this match for what it was. The shock at the end was that neither man answered a 10 count. Ryback slammed Cena through an electronic stage wall, rendering both himself and Cena incapable of standing up. The groans of the audience said it all, the crushing realisation setting in that WWE intended to continue this feud. The result sucked - Cena could beat Lesnar, he could beat Rock, but he couldn't beat Ryback. On this type of booking form at the annual 'Extreme' event, don't be surprised to see some 'shocks' at Extreme Rules 2014.
