WWE: 9 Guys Who Could Win Their First WWE Title In 2014

8. Ryback (Fixing A Past Mistake)

Late in 2012, Ryback was on fire. After months of squashing jobbers, not seen in a way since the debut of Monday Night Raw in 1993, low card performers, and utterly destroying The Miz and Dolph Ziggler, Ryback was placed in a feud with then WWE Champion CM Punk, taking the place of the injured John Cena. Momentarily, some thought that his rise was organic enough to warrant making a title switch. FEED ME MORE was sweeping arenas at a level just under the YES chants, and Ryback looked more impressive each week. Had The Rock's return not been upcoming he may have defeated Punk at least once. After the Punk feud he then turned heel to face John Cena, who was in need of fresh opponents. This was the beginning of the errors with Ryback. He blamed Cena for not being there for him, not being his friend and it felt like it was out of the 1980's. People began to notice Ryback lost every major match he was ever placed in and their faith and interest sadly waned. Ryback has seemed to find something with his trolling of the internet, and if WWE wants to rebuild his momentum off that, it wouldn't be surprising. Look for Ryback to rise again.
