WWE Almost Brought This 'Failed Experiment' Back

You won't believe who WWE almost rehired after they'd flopped first time round.

Nathan Jones

'Colossus of Boggo Road' Nathan Jones must be considered one of WWE's biggest busts ever, but...did you know that the company took a second look at him years later?

It's true. Bruce Prichard revealed, via his podcast, that then-boss Vince McMahon was willing to discuss possibly bringing Jones back in 2008. Yes, that was a full five years after big Nathan had flopped onscreen then quit the promotion due to WWE's intense travel schedule.

Prichard admits the fact Jones "had that look that turned heads in airports" was a major driving force behind agreeing to take another look at him. However, McMahon wasn't willing to pay significant money to give The Undertaker's ex-protege a second chance in developmental.

Jones would have to prove himself to officials all over again.

Things didn't pan out in the end. After agreeing to work a tryout when WWE was on tour in Australia (where Nathan lived), the monster of a man "just didn't come back" or get in touch with anyone in the office. That was pretty much that.

Prichard summed it up best: "Nathan was a little different".
