A lot of people over the years have gone over Ric Flair and become stars, like Ricky Steamboat and Sting. It€™s doubtful that Dr. Phil will follow in their footsteps and turn into a main-event player. As soon as Phil was announced to show up on Raw, you could hear millions of people across the world simultaneously yell €œWhat the hell for?€ While his appearance wasn€™t as bad as you probably imagined, it still wasn€™t good.

To Phil€™s credit, he wasn€™t a terrible actor, and he seemed to know what he was talking about. Perhaps he€™s watched a match or two in his time. But he needlessly stuck his nose in the the Flair€™s business, and chastised Charlotte for cheating in her matches. Phil€™s dialogue relied on him yelling at her for cheating, which also saw him looking at the camera. Hope McMahon chewed him out for that one!

WWE wasted a wonderful opportunity here, and could have had Ric give a bunch of chest chops to Phil, but instead the 67-year-old former 16 champion of the world was afraid of the 65-year-old non-wrestler. Why are celebrities so scary to wrestlers?

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
