A couple years ago if you pictured Alberto Del Rio and A.J. Styles battling it out for the first time ever, would you have pictured it would go down halfway through an episode of SmackDown in an unannounced match? What about Sami Zayn vs. Chris Jericho FIRST TIME EVER just kind of tossed out there without a satisfying finish?

It€™s the curse of the five hours a week content. Gotta fill up that time somehow, so might as well do it with a bunch of matches that could be really big if given the right amount of hype. What WWE never seems to grasp is that a first ever match between two stars should be something to build to. It makes tuning into a show or pay-per-view special, because we€™re about to see something we€™ve never seen before.

Jericho vs. Zayn could be a great feud down the line, so just save it. Is booking it on SmackDown without any notice going to increase the ratings for the show? No. All it does is make a future encounter less special, and the company already has a near entire roster full of feuds that don€™t feel special.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
