WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (August 30)

1. Stewart€™s Folly

Jon Stewart€™s involvement in WWE probably rubbed some people the wrong way from the beginning. Celebrities and WWE are almost always a terrible mix, so it's okay to have felt apprehensive. However, Stewart at least €œgets€ wrestling, and unlike every other TV or movie star who comes to visit, he actually shows fear of these professionally trained fighters. Also, Stewart is 10 times more respected and beloved in pop culture than NeNe Leakes, Florida Georgia Line, Kathie Lee Gifford, and even Stephen Amell. So a brief merger between the two isn€™t a terrible idea. The execution, however, was quite terrible. Or at least a giant mess. At SummerSlam, Stewart cost Cena his 16th run for the world title. It was a random, fun moment that left viewers wondering what could possibly have made such a mild-mannered comedian attack the US Champ. So why did he do it? Because Ric Flair. Flair, a man that Stewart has never mentioned before on The Daily Show, or during his last WWE visit, was what set him off. But we had no idea that he was such a fan of The Nature Boy, which made the explanation fall flat. It would have been far more satisfying to have actually given Rollins the rub of Stewart€™s endorsement, but creative went with an empty, out of left field explanation instead. Now all those potential fun possibilities are gone. It also made Cena seem like a fairly big jerk for beating up a guy half his size and 15 years older than him. Well...it had the possibilities of being a good time. Thanks for nothing WWE! This was no moment of zen. This was a moment of crap! Time to kick out.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
