7. Taker's Phone Plan
Paul Heyman is fantastic on the microphone. There is no one else in WWE who is even in his league. Its too bad that hes cutting some all-time classic promos on such a mediocre product, but such is life. Now, I could go on and on about how good he was on Monday, but thats not what were here for. Even in Pauls sandwich of awesome, there was a little slice of Russo in there. Before the show, Heyman hyped that he had some behind the scenes news that the McMahons didnt want us to know about. Turns out that Taker called Vince on the phone (must have been a landline, as Kane claimed during the Team Hell No era that his brother have a cell phone), and said he wanted a re-match with Brock Lesnar. The boss said no. Wait...so within WWEs storytelling methods, thats how it works? You just call up and ask for a match? So what theyre saying is Taker must have called back, and asked politely for a match with Bray Wyatt instead, and was granted that request. All of that stuff of Bray taunting him for weeks before Mania must have been pre-approved by management! And if not...well, then why didnt Taker just show up anyway and beat up Brock? Why was he now allowed the match? It was stuff that sounds good to the insider fans, but makes no sense in the grand scheme of things. It's like saying "This story? Yeah, this one is real. But anything that happens before or after that on the show? Nope."
Andrew Soucek
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
