WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (May 8)

6. Corbin Takes The Loss

Nothing says €œmonster heel€ quite like having them lose cleanly a few weeks into their run on the pay-per-view pre-show. WWE can be so frustrating, because they build people and angles up, and then almost never get anything out of it.

They should have had Baron Corbin winning for months, then eventually someone beats him. That way, Corbin looks like a badass for his winning streak, and another wrestler gets to benefit from pinning him. Ziggler winning at Payback did absolutely nothing for him. It€™s just more unnecessary 50/50 booking.

The next night on Raw, WWE continued to make Corbin look mediocre by having him get tossed out of the battle royal. Wasn€™t this the guy who won the Andre the Giant battle royal at WrestleMania? Either don€™t put the guy in the match if you don€™t want him to win, or put him in the match and have him win.

Corbin coming back to Earth so soon just highlights the big differences between WWE€™s brands. In NXT they let the man win for months, and made him look unstoppable. He was devastating to the point where the audience counted how long it would take for him to win. Now he€™s just another guy.

It€™s not his End of Days (please forgive me), but it€™s definitely not a good start. Unfortunately, this wasn€™t the only bad, bone-headed booking decision WWE had this week.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
