WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Oct 1)
1. The End?
Will Bound for Glory play out on Sunday? Is this really it? Should I start writing "The Horrible Birth and Embarrassing Death of TNA?" As of last word, Dixie Carter said there will be tapings next week for her company, but we may be in the end days.
No matter how it plays out, this was a bad, bad week for TNA. There’s no way a wrestling television show that has been in existence since 2002 should not know if their biggest show of the year is even going to air or not two days before its scheduled.
We’ve seen this play out before. We’ve been hearing about the late payments and lack of funds in the past. We’ve seen the company lose one star after the next, and get booted from one network to the next. Somehow, Dixie Carter and her crew stayed alive. It got to the point where news of them closing their doors couldn’t even be taken seriously. What other business has that privilege?
It’s been a frustrating effort covering TNA over the years. There’s been so much awful, bad, embarrassing, insane, degrading, sexist material since its inception that it should have gone under a 1,000 times over. But it didn’t. It remained, and right now, it’s really not half bad. It’s just too bad it took them 14 years to get there.
Time to kick out.
