WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Sept 11)
3. The Girl In The S***y Segment
I’m done with Mick Foley. Done in the sense that I’ve gone from “Oh s**t! It’s Mick Foley!” to “Oh...s**t….it’s Mick Foley."
The girl with the shy smile? THE GIRL WITH THE SHY SMILE? Mick talks about going to Promo Land in his books to develop his material, but where the hell did he go for that one?
What a painfully melodramatic, undercooked mess to open Raw. Now, I mean, Steph was just as bad as The Mick, possibly much worse. It's really hard to say. But I was done with that character in 2000. Mick still had a little goodwill left.
I respect everything Mick has done for the business, but can he go one promo, or one interview or one chapter in one of his books without reminding us of his physically painful past? I get it, he had a tooth in his nose. I get it, he fell off a cell. I get it, he let The Rock nearly beat him to death with a chair in front of his family. Does Undertaker tell us all about his past pains every time out?
It’s like Hulk Hogan reminding us of slamming Andre at Mania 3 level of un-self awareness with his self promotion. Just because he tries to be all cutesy with it at times doesn't make it less irritating.
The chemistry between Steph and Mick is unbearable, and I don’t care where it’s headed. I don’t care if Steph is tricking him. Why? Because she’s been the biggest heel in the company for the past few years! And if she isn’t? Well again, who cares? She’s not going to step in the ring, and her and Mick aren’t actually going to wrestle, no matter how much we wish for something like that.
So take that shy smile, and take that tooth up the nose and just get off of TV! Until he does, I won't have a nice day at all.
