WWE Announces New Weekly Cruiserweight Show On The Network
205 Live is coming to Tuesday nights.
WWE has announced today that a new weekly, one-hour show on Tuesday nights featuring Cruiserweight talent is coming to the WWE Network on 29 Nov. at 10 p.m. ET.
The show will be hosted by Mauro Ranallo and Corey Graves, and is set to star all the Cruiserweights currently on Raw, as well as many we haven't seen yet on the brand (Jack Gallagher, Tozawa). The show will be titled (ugh) 205 Live. Get it? Because the weight limit is 205 lbs. Yep.
Okay, looking past the name for a moment, this has a high probability of being the most entertaining show WWE puts on. This will likely be a Triple H presentation (he provided a quote on the press release, while Stephanie and Vince did not), and if it's anything like the CWC, we're in for something good.
However, it's a bit of a wonder how they can add an entire show based off the Cruiserweights when they're struggling to make them work at all on Raw. And then, there's the thought of another hour of WWE's narrative to sit though every week. With Raw, SmackDown, NXT and 205 Live, you're looking at a seven hour time commitment to get the full story, (that's ignoring Superstars) and at least 10 hours on pay-per-view weeks.
Mostly, though, what the hell were they thinking with 205 Live as the title? Hopefully that will change before the show debuts on 29 Nov., and we can just focus on the in-ring action, which will likely be incredible.
