WWE Backlash 2016: 10 Shocks That Could Happen

1. AJ Styles Wins The WWE World Heavyweight Title

Even months into his WWE World Heavyweight Title tenure, it still doesn't feel like fans have seen the best of Dean Ambrose on top. All too often, he's booked to act like a comedic lunatic, rather than an unhinged psycho who desperately wants to retain his status on top of the mountain.

That's a shame, because Ambrose comes across as the kind of performer who would excel with that kind of writing. At Backlash, he faces AJ Styles for the WWE Title, and common sense dictates that the Ambrose train will roll on beyond the pay-per-view. That said, what if management elect to do something out of left field, booking AJ to actually win the championship?

Styles is without doubt the best heel SmackDown has right now, and a lengthy title reign could be the ticket required to secure his slot in the WWE main event class permanently. Looking into early-2017, John Cena will return, and such a heroic babyface should never be satisfied with loss to a smug villain.

There's money in Styles as champion, but it'd take balls to make that kind of switch right now.
