It seems to be the same old story with The Miz and the WWE Intercontinental Title, there's really no pressing need to take the belt away from him at the moment. If anything, those writing SmackDown should be getting behind him after that stirring segment on Talking Smack with Daniel Bryan.

There's slight confusion over exactly why Dolph Ziggler has been placed in another title match, he hasn't really won many matches to merit becoming the top Intercontinental Title contender. Even ignoring that point, now is not the right time to change who holds SmackDown's secondary title, such a switch deserves greater build than just a one-off pay-per-view encounter.

Miz, with Maryse by his side, is a superb villain. There's an air of The Honky Tonk Man about the guy, he always finds a way to escape with his gold even when the chips are down. WWE have a real opportunity to make Miz's eventual title loss meaningful, it surely can't just randomly go to a Dolph Ziggler who has scaled back down the ladder since SummerSlam.
