WWE Backlash 2016: 10 Things That Must Happen
2. Heath Slater & Rhyno Become SmackDown Tag-Team Champions
When Heath Slater was dubbed a 'free agent' and ignored in the WWE Draft, it seemed to signify his place on the totem pole in the organisation. There's an element of truth to the story, but Slater has turned everything in his favour. Without doubt, he's one of the most charming characters SmackDown currently promotes.
His odd couple pairing with Rhyno is a bundle of fun, and Heath fully merits some success to reflect how entertaining he has been lately. It'd come as a surprise if Slater and Rhyno became the first ever SmackDown Tag-Team Champions, but that's really the beauty of such a decision.
Heath Slater would have something to finally crow about on television by winning the new belts alongside his recent partner. WWE could have The Usos win the titles as heels, but a victory for Slater and Rhyno would produce one of the biggest pops of the night. It's up to management whether or not they want to throw that chance away, perhaps looking to making the moment even bigger down the line.
