WWE Battleground: 10 Predictions That Will Happen

9. Kevin Owens Finally Dethrones John Cena

If Kevin Owens doesn't beat John Cena, then what has been the point of the past couple of months? There's no denying that Cena has built up the United States title to a much higher level, while he deserves praise for putting over so many up and coming Superstars.

However, that comes hot on the heels of him completely killing the momentum held by both Bray Wyatt and Rusev. He beat them so often that any victories they may hold over him have been forgotten, and both men have struggled to regain the place they once had since. If Cena beats Owens for a second time in a row, there's a good chance that he could go the same way, and that would be a disaster so soon after his main roster debut.

Thankfully, all the signs are pointing to Owens emerging victorious. Dropping the NXT title to Finn Balor makes his transition to United States Champion much easier, and a victory for Owens at Battleground would also set up one final match between him and Cena at SummerSlam in a bout which would have a true big fight feel.

Looking even further ahead, Owens defeating Cena again could open the door to a whole new United States title picture, with men like Cesaro, Neville, and Rusev all targeting the former NXT Champion. If any of that is remotely similar to what the WWE has planned, Owens needs to win this Sunday, and will.
