WWE Battleground: 10 Predictions That Will Happen
3. The Miz Becomes Intercontinental Champion For Some Reason
Had things panned out differently for poor old Daniel Bryan, the Intercontinental Championship probably would have been elevated to the same level as the United States Championship by now.
Instead, it's in the hands of Ryback, and while him facing Big Show and The Miz in a Triple Threat match is a fresh enough combination, it's hard to figure out what the point of it is. If Ryback wins, he looks strong(ish), but beats two Superstars who lose most weeks anyway. If The Big Show wins it would be a genuine surprise, but as he usually only comes out on top in any match around once a year, that seems somewhat unlikely.
That leaves only The Miz, and seeing as he's been the main antagonist of this feud, the signs are pointing to him walking out of Battleground as the Intercontinental Champion. That's not necessarily a good decision, but if his run with Damien Sandow proved anything, it's that The Miz knows how to entertain (he's also tremendous fun on commentary).
Ultimately, none of these men winning on Sunday is what's best for this title, but The Miz definitely appears to be the clear favourite as of right now.
