WWE Battleground: 9 Match Predictions After Money In The Bank
What can we expect from the July PPV after last night?
As seems to be a yearly tradition in WWE, Money in the Bank was a lot of fun. When flesh meets steel, all of the company current deficiencies - the sloppy storytelling, the cheesy promos - seem to fade into the background, and last night was no different. Wall to wall, the action was entertaining and every superstar laid everything they had in the ring. The night opened with another shocking Money In The Bank win, with a dark horse sneaking past the clear-favourite Reigns to scoop the briefcase. Each year, WWE have succeeded in subverting the fans' expectations when it comes to the prestigious ladder match, and after 20 gruelling minutes (and many 'This Is Awesome' chants) The Celtic Warrior Sheamus, stood tall. Once again the Match of the Night was Cena vs Owens, the two men handily outclassing their last bout in terms of workmanship and pacing of big spots. Owens' post-match attack was also highly effective booking, placing him high in the rankings of the company's top heels. Ambrose and Rollins almost matched their fire, gutting it out in 30-minute slugfest with surprisingly good wrestling fundamentals for a gimmick match. Ladder's crunched beneath bodies, yes, but they also told a convincing story centring around Ambrose's injured knee. With Money In The Bank all wrapped up, and with five whole weeks to go before the next big show, Battleground, what feuds will carry over from MITB, what new pairings will be built, and what are the most likely outcomes?
