CM Punk vs Ryback
Overview: Paul Heyman seemed so interested in Ryback beating CM Punk that he didn't care for the result. Ryback destroyed Punk but in the end, Heyman distracted the referee to help Ryback, however Punk capitalized with the low blow to pin Big Hungry for the win. Punk-October begins with a win for CM Punk. Author's Thoughts: Personally, I don't care about this feud now. What seemed like a brilliant idea has now become complacent simply because of the involvement of many others who were not required and also, CM Punk and Paul Heyman didn't work the way I expected it to be. Otherwise, the contest was good, and CM Punk got a win, which was extremely surprising. Ryback looks like a beast, and the best moment of the match was when the crowd was chanting, "You can't wrestle!" at Ryback and he replied with "I don't care." Ryback is growing on me, which is great, but Punk is losing a lot of points these days, and something about him just seems off.Rating: 3.5/5
Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan
Overview: This match felt so amazing, with Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton putting it all on the line for an opportunity to win the WWE Championship. Randy Orton went for the RKO and it was blocked by Daniel Bryan, and then Bryan locked in the Yes lock and seemed to get the victory, however, Big Show came in and spoiled everything: he knocked everyone out, including the referees and was the only one standing tall in the end.Author's Thoughts: This match was much better than their Night of Champions encounter. Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan have chemistry and are perfect opponents for each other, simply because of their talent. Big Show is an interesting fit in this storyline, and the sight of Show destroying everyone in the ring was great. Daniel Bryan needs to win the WWE Championship now, or Orton needs to get it back, since the title remaining vacant seems a bit unusual. Otherwise, our favorite superstar, John Cena can just make a return and win the championship for the 12th time.Rating: 4.5/5
Final Thoughts
Battleground; oh my god. Honestly, I expected so much more out of this event, since I liked the card, and even though the build up wasn't as amazing as I expected, the matches seemed amazing and I expected WWE to deliver, however, like the rest - it seemed like an average RAW. Battleground was a new concept, and while I expected it to be great, it backfired. However, the next pay per view is in three weeks, called the Hell in A Cell, which I think is a terrible concept, because, once again, the build up would be less and below average and the match quality would suffer. Anyway, Cody Rhodes was the main event player here, and I expect him to get a push for the World Title in the near future, and he deserves it. Goldust got his job back too, which seems exciting. I'm looking forward to RAW to see what happens which Big Show and Orton/Bryan, and the Shield angle. Anyway, the following are the high and the low points of this event. High Points: Rhodes/Shield Match Brutality of the Hardcore Match Bryan/Orton/Show scenario Low Points: Average event Nothing exciting or special Felt off Filler matches Divas Match Final Grade: B-
