It's hard for WWE to stray from the logic that john Cena should close out a show, even in a country where the beloved former Prince Devitt claimed the NXT Championship. But that's exactly what happened at Beast in the East, for better or for worse.

King Barrett worked a large portion of the middle of this match to create a hot tag situation for Dolph Ziggler. It was a brief rally as the bad guys regained control. Ziggler had a long stretch of being in peril as well before giving a massive DDT to Kane. He then repayed the hot tag to Cena for the final moments of the match.

Superkicks and Attitudes Adjustments closed out the broadcast for that nice happy feeling. The big problem for this match is that it had to follow the spectacular NXT Championship. The build of this tag just felt really slow because of its placement on the card; it was in the shadow of what preceded it..

Still, the Tokyo crowd loved seeing Cena & Ziggler get the win and the two babyfaces celebrated to a standing ovation from the appreciative crowd.
