WWE Beast In The East Results: 7 Biggest Winners
The Demon arrived in Tokyo.
At a time that really doesn't mesh for much of the western hemisphere, WWE's Beast in the East event aired live from Tokyo on the WWE Network. Appearances by the likes of Brock Lesnar and to a lesser extent Chris Jericho were anticipated moments for this show. And of course, Finn Balor challenged Kevin Owens for his NXT Championship in the biggest match of the night.
There was much to appreciate from this event, especially thanks to the Owens vs. Balor and the Jericho vs. Neville matches. The Brock Lesnar appearance wasn't anything groundbreaking, but still fun to see. It's not too difficult in declaring the 'winners' of this event when there was so much to enjoy.
The only outright losers for Beast in the East were the advertised talent who had their matches cut from the broadcast. By the time Cena and Ziggler came to the ring for their tag match, Diego and Cesaro hopefully didn't get any false expectations that they were moved into the main event.
WWE seems intent on making Network specials a fairly regular occurrence and that's a good thing. Having one or two really big matches and moments on a house show like this still provides quality content, making all of us fans who love good wrestling the real winners.
The following 7 entries highlights who the biggest winners of Beast in the East were...
7. Chris Jericho
Chris Jericho's initially unplanned televised appearance was quite the treat for WWE fans. Chris might have wanted to face off against Finn Balor in Tokyo but this matchup instead did not disappoint.
The were so many great moments from Y2J in this match. One of the best spots of the night was when Neville attempted a springboard maneuver and Jericho countered into into a Codebreaker. Also, lifting his knees on Neville's final Red Arrow attempt to put him into the Walls of Jericho was a totally unexpected finish.
Jericho won the match to become the night's first big winner. He's also a winner in the sense that he set the bar so high in the opening match. Good luck following that, WWE roster.
