The Wrestling Observer newsletter reports that Motor City Machine Guns duo Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley are "expected" to sign with WWE imminently. According to Dave Meltzer's sources, "That's the talk". It also looks like WWE beat AEW to the punch with the ex-TNA and New Japan pair.

Reportedly, Tony Khan's company did make an offer to the Machine Guns, but it either wasn't to their liking or as high as the WWE number. Either way, it does look like Sabin and Shelley will be popping up on Triple H's side instead of Khan's.

They'd be perfect as a veteran babyface tag on NXT, or even the main roster shows. NXT would probably be the best bet for MCMG in the short-term, and they'd fit in with the recent mini-TNA invasion that's been going on with the third brand.

It's important to note that nothing is set in stone just yet. The Observer seem sure that Sabin and Shelley are WWE bound, but things could change late in the day. Tony Khan might not be out of the race yet!
