It was during an all-too-familiar Raw Talk worked shoot that Peyton Royce infamously admitted that she was “haunted” by her own potential.

Showing promising in-ring flourishes in the limited opportunities she’d received, Royce appeared to be yet another unfortunate example of WWE’s profound disinterest in establishing a women’s midcard below the two or three title programmes at any one time. She was directionless for months leading up to her departure.
