WWE Braced For MAJOR Travel Issues (WWE News)
WWE has plans in place to deal with the extreme weather.
With extreme weather conditions hitting the United States and parts of wider North America, WWE has precautions in place to make sure that this weather doesn't impact travel for the promotion's upcoming events.
At present, a state of emergency has been declared in multiple US states, from the Rocky Mountains and New Mexico, to the East Coast of the country, with approximately 140 million people - roughly 40% of the population - under weather warnings. Certain news reports indicate that it's possible to get frostbite in under ten minutes in certain parts of Minnesota and North Dakota, with wind chill temperatures as low as -50°F/-46°C.
For WWE, they held the latest edition of Saturday Night's Main Event at the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec, Canada last night, and they've got Raw from Toronto's Scotiabank Arena tomorrow before the company heads to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for SmackDown and the Royal Rumble.
Per Fightful Select, WWE has "options, backup options, and backup backup options for travel this week," as the market leader looks to make sure that Raw, SmackDown, and the Royal Rumble go ahead as planned. This report also notes that a number of talent and staff immediately left Montreal last night to head to Toronto overnight ahead of Raw.
This comes on the heels of AEW opting not to run last night's Collision live from Arlington, Texas as originally scheduled, with the company deciding to instead tape Collision last Wednesday from Orlando, Florida's Addition Financial Arena - the venue for last week's live Dynamite - due to weather concerns.
