WWE Brand Split 2016: 10 Wrestlers Who Must Stay In NXT

8. Elias Samson

Asuka 2016

Samson is another wrestler who grabs attention with his first appearance, but ultimately fails to hold it long-term. “The Drifter” has a great look, but lacks the expressive ability required to pull-off his one-note gimmick with any real panache, and while he always wrestles with intensity, he’s slow and sloppy in the ring.

There’s next to no chance that the currently-injured Samson will feature in the July 19th draft, and for now, he seems destined to an eternity of putting over his more established peers.

That’s not necessarily a terrible role for Samson, but everyone wants to be the best in the world, and it’s hard to imagine him ever getting there.
