WWE Brand Split 2016: 20 Top Draft Picks For Raw And Smackdown
8. Smackdown #7 Pick: Becky Lynch
By his seventh pick, Shane McMahon will already have the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, the United States Champion, and the Tag Team Champions. Gold will not be an issue for Smackdown. He will begin building the women's division with Becky Lynch.
It would be hard to argue with Shane choosing Becky Lynch as the face of Smackdown's women's division. She wrestled for the WWE Women's Championship in front of a record crowd at WrestleMania in her first year on the main roster, as did her opponents, Charlotte and Sasha Banks.
If there was a downside to the explosion of women's wrestling in WWE last year, it was that there was only one championship for so many deserving competitors. WWE should not pull the same trick it once did by confining the women's division to one roster. Each brand deserves its own stable of female competitors to allow more of them the opportunities they deserve.
Becky Lynch can be just as credible and formidable of a champion on Smackdown as Charlotte will be on Raw.
