Last week I wrote about the backbone of professional wrestling,
the feud. Now I get to tackle my favorite thing in professional wrestling, the wrestling stable. A stable is a collection of wrestlers who unite together for a common goal, or to give a rub to a person who is lacking in certain skills. They have come together for a variety of reasons over the years. The 4 Horsemen, perhaps the greatest stable of all time, came together almost by accident. Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard, and The Andersons all had a big match coming up at an NWA show, and so the promotion put all of them in an interview segment together to hype the big show. When Arn Anderson through out a statement about causing more destruction than the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the greatest stable in wrestling history was born. Nowadays, stables are not as prominent as they once were, though they continue to pop up from time to time. Recently, the Shield has been dominating the wrestling scene, and the Wyatt Family has been destroying NXT and will soon be debuting on WWE TV. The SCUM stable has been running rampant in ROH, and Aces and Eights has been the prominent storyline in TNA for over a year now. No matter the stable though, the truly great ones have certain qualities to them. Each wrestler needs to bring certain elements to the table, and I believe the 4 Horsemen displayed most if not all of the qualities which I believe lead to the perfect stable. I have decided to split this article into 2. The first part will consists of mostly modern day talent, and the second part will try to piece together the perfect stable from wrestlers past. I may stretch it into even more parts if there is interest in that. So, without further delay, I present the building of the perfect stable.
