Rewind to SummerSlam in August, and Roman Reigns didn't even get to challenge Rusev for the WWE United States Title as advertised. Instead, the company booked an angle which had Reigns ambush the champion before the match, injuring Rusev and thus forcing the match to be cancelled. It seemed that would be that.

Now, Roman is billed to finally challenge Rusev for the gold inside the ring at Clash Of Champions. Build for the match has been lengthy, interspersed with gaps in Rusev's appearances on television. It seems like Reigns is poised to snatch the title from his Bulgarian counterpart's grasp on pay-per-view.

Everything is pointing towards a Roman Reigns victory, meaning it'd be even more special if Rusev managed to escape still as champion. Enhancing the fantasy, wouldn't it be something if Lana didn't even become involved to mire the win? Instead, Rusev wears down Reigns following a brutal match and locks him in the Accolade.

Cleanly beating Reigns on pay-per-view with Rusev seems hard to fathom, but it would certainly give Clash Of Champions an eye-opening moment.
