WWE Clash Of Champions 2017: 8 Things WWE Got Right

6. Keeping The Tag Titles On The Usos

Oh, Boston, how you tried to tell WWE's creative team that you want Rusev and Aiden English as SmackDown Tag-Team Champions. Do you really though, or would this just be another one-off pop that fizzles out once people get what they claim to crave? Don't forget that English previously emerged to zero reaction.

Much like Bobby Roode (who admittedly gets a much bigger response from audiences), patience is key here. English and Rusev do have potential to become a quirky babyface tandem, but they'd be found wanting immediately if they became champs already. No, The Usos were much more deserving as winners on Sunday night.

Jimmy and Jey have only just turned babyface. If they drop the titles any time soon, their own momentum would evaporate and they'd be left with nothing to do other than turn heel again. Not only would that make little sense, it'd also make the begrudging respect story they and The New Day told at HIAC meaningless.
