I feel that I should say at this point that I'm a huge CM Punk fan, but sometimes defending someone you love can be increasingly difficult as I'm very quickly realising. Almost a year after the aforementioned Australia incident, Punk sent out a tweet in defence of same-sex marriage. As is expected when it comes to celebrities on Twitter, this brought about a barrage of tweets both in defence of and adverse to Punk's tweet. One user, who definitely didn't agree with Punk's sentiment tweeted a response 'Man was meant for woman, and even the thought of h***'s makes me sick.' Punk's only response was telling the fan to 'kill yourself.' In an age of rampant cyber-bullying, this kind of thing all too often turns into a very real, very tragic situation. Following this, Punk seemingly jumped fully off the deep end and told another Twitter user to 'drink bleach'. This is pretty bad, right? Well it gets worse; yet another user tweeted punk and told him to 'be a STAR' to which Punk replied 'hey moron, don't try to hide behind the be a star campaign. I am a star. I'm fighting bigots here. Zero tolerance.' Sigh.
