WWE Commentators Accidentally Mention AEW Star On SmackDown

OOPS! This was a fun little botch from WWE's commentary team on SmackDown.

Adam Cole
AEW

There was an unintentionally funny moment during last night's live taping of WWE SmackDown when Wade Barrett accidentally name-dropped AEW star Adam Cole.

The announcer was bickering back and forth about default GM Adam Pearce favouring the babyfaces with Michael Cole when he suddenly got mixed up and referred to the authority figure as Adam Cole: "Adam Cole...excuse me, Adam Pearce has no right to...".

Both members of WWE's commentary team could be seen giggling in the background shortly afterwards, and Barrett even asked Cole what he was laughing at. There was a brief moment of silence after that, then they got straight back to work on the Bayley vs. Shotzi match raging on inside the ring.

Fantastic.

Previously, this surely would've been accompanied by a verbal tirade from Vince McMahon over the headsets. It's unclear whether or not Triple H (or whomever's on talkback for the announcers these days) said anything to them, but everyone moved on quickly anyway.

Wade was obviously confused and trying to talk about Pearce and Michael Cole at the same time. So, he merged the two and unfortunately came up with a current AEW wrestler's name. Oops!
