WrestleMania might be happening this very weekend (twice!), with Roman Reigns having publicly pulled out of proceedings over a week ago, but WWE have only now just got round to officially albeit tacitly addressing the situation.

On the go-home episode of SmackDown last night, Michael Cole announced that Universal Champion Bill Goldberg will put his strap on the line against Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 36/36.5. Roman Reigns' withdrawal was not mentioned at all, and indeed, the company had advertised a showdown between 'The Big Dog' and 'The Big Bill' for last night's show even though everybody knew it was completely off the cards.

At present, we don't know which of the two WrestleMania airings the rejigged match is taking place on.

Reigns, who is immunosuppressed having twice fought leukaemia, revealed his decision to skip WrestleMania last Thursday. It's understood he was quite rightly concerned about his health, particularly after colleague The Miz went home ill.

So far, no WWE performer or member of staff has been confirmed as directly affected by the health crisis sweeping America. However, both Dana Brooke and Andrade have been removed from 'Mania, with the former undergoing voluntary quarantine.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
