WWE Day 1 2022: 10 Things That Must Happen
7. Montez Ford Takes A Flashy RKO
This guy has got to be honest - he was a tad disappointed that Chad Gable and Otis didn't get added into the Raw Tag Title match to make it a three-way. Sure, there's another multi-challenger format on the card already, but Alpha Academy bloody deserve the spotlight. They've been ace as a duo, and they're so overlooked.
Nope. WWE wanted another Street Profits title match instead.
There is a way to make this match memorable, to be fair. Montez Ford, the cracking athlete that he is, can take one of those jaw-dropping RKOs that Randy Orton is so fond of. You know the ones; one of those Evan Bourne numbers from back in the day. Not necessarily from a shooting star, but something off a springboard attack would do.
Ford has the aerial ability and bumping skills to make that work, and Orton's timing is typically superb for those spots. This might be the only way anybody remembers this routine RK-Bro title defence.
