WWE Elimination Chamber 2018: 8 Things That Must Happen

No more sign pointing or stalling for time, please...

Unless WWE plan to add one or two other throwaway matches before Sunday, it looks like Elimination Chamber is a five match card. Things don't look good for the pay-per-view when you consider that two of the five could easily be on the Kickoff portion without complaint too.

Are Matt Hardy vs. Bray Wyatt and The Bar vs. Titus Worldwide really essential?

The titular Chamber matches, Asuka overcoming an unnecessary hurdle and Ronda Rousey's contract signing are all anyone should care about here. With each of these, it's vital that WWE get things right and set Raw on a path to New Orleans that's both exciting and logical.

There's still a chance the show could prove itself useful, and not the annoying speed bump for WWE creative it appears to be, but only if the correct decisions are made. Elimination Chamber will fail if it doesn't take the reins (not Reigns) off this 'Road To WrestleMania'...

8. Matt Hardy Beats Bray Wyatt

What's that? You're surprised to hear us advocate some 50/50 booking?

This writer can't blame you for that, but nothing will be achieved if Bray Wyatt repeats his victory at Raw 25 over Matt Hardy this Sunday. Hardy winning is a must, if only because it'd be the ideal turning point for Wyatt's character and may just allow WWE to try something different with him.

Bray is stale anyway; he needs change.

By booking a 'Woken' win, WWE can focus on presenting a fresh side of Wyatt 24 hours later on Raw. The tedious cycle of talking a big game only to inevitably be overlooked come pay-per-view time must end with him. This would be Bray's watershed moment, something he could use as motivation to tweak his character and potentially turn babyface.
