WWE Elimination Chamber 2019: 10 Things It Got Right

5. Finn Bálor Pinning Lio Rush

Before getting stuck into this one, here's a little bonus: this writer doesn't like the fact that Finn Bálor won the Intercontinental Title on Sunday night. That should've been held back for 'Mania, chiefly because there's no obvious follow-up opponent for the new champ now and also 'cause Bobby Lashley is (once again) rudderless.

On the plus side, it was the right call to have him beat Lio Rush.

Now, the 'Hype Man' can attempt to mend fences with his want-away client by securing him a rematch with Bálor either at Fastlane or, if WWE show restraint, WrestleMania 35. That has to be the narrative going forward; Rush trying to beat Finn himself doesn't make sense, and there's no way the feud is a wrap.

Perhaps Lio could bring up a new client from NXT to fight his battles. That may be a solution to the mess WWE have booked here, but meh, something about it just didn't feel right. At least they had the sense to give Lashley an excuse.
