WWE Elimination Chamber 2019: 10 Things We Learned

4. Ruby Riott’s Challenge Was Pointless

Literally nobody believed Ruby Riott when she said she could beat Ronda Rousey to become the new Raw Women's Champion. This was like a modern-day version of Reno Riggins telling everyone he'd defeat The Ultimate Warrior on a 1989 episode of Wrestling Challenge. Funnily enough, that show was filled with squashes like this one.

Pointless squashes.

Ronda didn't need to defend her title on Sunday. It would've been preferable to spare Riott a senseless kicking and book Rousey in a promo segment instead. That's sorta' what she ended up doing with Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch anyway. Beating Ruby in less than two minutes did nothing for either woman.

It's not like Rousey couldn't have worn her Mortal Kombat gear to the ring for a verbal showdown with Charlotte, or locked someone in a submission like she did Riott. All WWE achieved here was making the supposedly dangerous Ruby look like a jobber.
