WWE Elimination Chamber 2020: 10 Things That Must Happen
The birth of a new unholy alliance...
How the mighty have fallen.
There was a time in WWE history when the Elimination Chamber concept was up there with Hell In A Cell and Money In The Bank ladder matches as one of the best gimmicks going. The decision to turn these ideas into standalone shows has steadily diluted their importance over the years, but the Chamber can still be valuable under the right circumstances.
Booking a card with two Chamber bouts, none of which feature any WWE or Universal Title implications, is hardly a fine use of the 18-year old gimmick. That's what's happening this Sunday. One Chamber match is for the SmackDown Tag-Team Titles, and the other will determine Becky Lynch's Raw Women's Championship opponent for WrestleMania 36.
As always, there are bright spots, and there is a way for WWE to turn this mediocrity into something worth watching. To do so, they'll need to start telling more interesting stories with some of the tag teams, line up another 'Mania match and give one man some superstar rub from a legend.
