This time last year, Bobby Lashley was struggling. He was still in the midst of that woeful love angle with Lana, and he wasn't booked on the Elimination Chamber card at all; Lash is actually lucky that his exhibition add-on with Aleister Black earned him a WrestleMania 36 pay check too.

In short, he was going nowhere fast.

Things are different in 2021. Now, Bobby is riding high as part of MVP's Hurt Business on Raw, and he's the best choice as United States Champ that brand has. On Sunday, he'll defend his belt in a three-way opposite regular foe Riddle and curveball Keith Lee - WWE should not end Lashley's reign there.

If anything, Riddle needs to grab that title at 'Mania 37 in a singles bout. Dropping the gold in a thrown-together triple threat on a 'B' level pay-per-view would be a real hammer blow to Lashley right now. He deserves better than that, and he deserves to hold onto his prize.
