WWE Elimination Chamber Network Exclusive: 6 Reasons It's A Bad Idea
3. No Major Storyline Advancement
This is a problem commonly associated with the old UK exclusive PPVs. You could almost always predict the results of a Rebellion or Insurrextion main event; a babyface champion would always retain his belt, while a heel champ would lose via DQ to keep his belt, before suffering a feel-good beatdown at the hands of the major face(s). Because the shows were broadcast to a far smaller, non-US audience, the promotion always hesitated to advance any of their major storylines at all. The odd lowercard belt may have changed hands, but viewers could largely skip the shows and tune into Raw the following day without having missed any significant developments. The upcoming PPV faces a similar issue considering its Network exclusive status. Will the WWE be brave enough to significantly advance any of their big storylines, or will the whole thing become a glorified episode of Smackdown, maintaining the status quo as much as possible?
