Right from the off, those aforementioned talking heads don't pull any punches. The likes of Chris Jericho straight up questions Bischoff's ability to keep a lid on things and resist stroking his ample ego during WCW's heyday. Then there's 'Mean' Gene Okerlund, who outright states that he was turned away numerous times when approaching Eric backstage.

It's the kind of thing fans want when analysing the end of WCW, and is to be expected by those who perceive this story to be viewed through those familiar WWE filters. Remarkably, they're largely absent following the opening few minutes of the documentary, but that negativity does get revisited later on.

By opening the show with criticism, WWE are setting the scene for the inevitable. They're teasing viewers with just enough dirt to keep them watching, before hitting everyone with Eric's upbringing and childhood memories.

It's an interesting way to construct the piece, but it does give some structure that deviates from the usual, 'I went to school here, I worked there' devices usually used for these releases.
