WWE's first ever all-female pay-per-view comes less than a week before the company unfathomably, inexplicably goes ahead with their ill-fated Crown Jewel show in Saudi Arabia. It'd be something legitimately laudable were it not a tacit apology, cynically designed to deflect criticism over a show totally free of female influence mere days later.

It hasn't really worked. Even when WWE try to do something right, they get it wrong.

The card itself, at least, promises to be fairly engaging. It's not the performers' fault that their employer's tone deafness has entirely undermined their big moment, and for their sake, everybody is hoping Evolution is a great success - and hopefully, a precursor for more like it down the line.

Though several matches on offer stand out, some of their outcomes lack intrigue. Do we really expect Nikki Bella to start a new-record breaking title reign this Sunday? Or Trish and Lita to take a big fat paycheque just to lose a one-off comeback?

Of course not. For the most part, the event is as predictable as the long-winded Stephanie McMahon promo that'll definitely open proceedings. But if you're still in doubt...

Becky is hotter than a nun in a field of courgettes right about now - and WWE's icy attitude towards her finally seems to have melted.

On any other occasion where the company's female division is being celebrated, you'd reasonably expect Charlotte to be at the front and centre of festivities - and no doubt she will be, alongside inevitably emotional father Ric at the top of the hour - but when the final bell rings, for once, she won't be the one standing tall.

Prediction: Becky retains - possibly with assistance.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
