WWE Extreme Rules: 10 Things Overly Optimistic Fans Hope Will Happen
10. Somebody Will Bleed
There's a fanbase out there that loves blood in wrestling. The kids and teens of today aren't really used to seeing blood, but those of us in our 20s and older know that in the past "extreme" often meant that there would be blood in a wrestling match. These days in WWE there isn't blood anymore. However, they have been known to have blood moments at events like Extreme Rules. Remember Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena at Extreme Rules two years ago? They did a spot early in the match where Lesnar destroyed Cena with forearm shots to the forehead because they knew he could cut him open that way. That led to the doctor jumping into the ring to check on Cena. They used the blood as part of the story. While WWE will never admit to wanting to have a performer bleed on purpose, don't be surprised if it happens somewhere "accidentally" during Extreme Rules. It's airing on WWE Network in the US. They don't have to worry about sponsors as much. That's not to say there will be a blood bath, but it's possible.
