Apollo Crews is doing just fine as United States Champ.

Though his two-month reign hasn't been too memorable, it has been a significant improvement on what Crews was doing beforehand. He's been able to show some more fire beyond that smiling babyface exterior too, and work solid matches with Andrade, Kevin Owens, MVP etc.

At Extreme Rules, he meets MVP again, and it's important WWE don't book anything other than an Apollo win. Forget the fact Bobby Lashley will be patrolling ringside too, because giving the baby some shine by overcoming odds would be a good idea for Crews' credibility right now.

MVP doesn't need a belt at this stage in his career. He's been awesome as Lashley's mouthpiece since returning, and his best role will be helping Bob dispatch Apollo eventually. Chalk this up as a successful title defence.
