WWE Extreme Rules 2020 Gets ANOTHER Name Change
RIP Extreme Rules: The Horror Show.
WWE's next big pay-per-view has undergone another name change, with the promotion no longer branding their 19 July show Extreme Rules: The Horror Show.
The pay-per-view is now being promoted as The Horror Show at Extreme Rules instead. This is apparent across WWE.com and all other branding for the show, which is largely being built around the Wyatt Swamp Fight between Universal Champion Braun Strowman and an old-school 'Eater of Worlds' Bray Wyatt.
Nonetheless, "The Horror Show" remains a stunning modern example of WWE's inability to read the room. Designed to promote a wacky cinematic match featuring a supernatural character it may be, but the tagline has drawn justified criticism for being tone-deaf to what is currently going on around the world. WWE gonna WWE, though.
Here's how the Extreme Rules 2020 card looks at the time of writing:-
WWE Championship: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
Universal Championship Wyatt Swamp Fight: Braun Strowman (c) vs. Bray Wyatt
SmackDown Women's Championship: Bayley (c) vs. Sasha Banks
Raw Women's Championship: Asuka (c) vs. Sasha Banks
Other bouts speculated but yet to be announced include Rey Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins, Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus, and Apollo Crews vs. Bobby Lashley.
