WWE Extreme Rules 2021: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

Quick! Somebody tell Vince McMahon that this is Extreme Rules, not WWE TLC!

D...d...did WWE forget what this pay-per-view is called?

A worrying apathy towards Extreme Rules, and the fact that mega-matches like Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns are already being promoted for Crown Jewel after it, show that this weekend isn't the priority. WWE want to get into Columbus, Ohio ASAP, then jet out as quickly as they arrived.

The latest money-spinning Saudi supershow looms on the horizon, then attention will turn to the usual Raw vs. SmackDown festivities come Survivor Series. That, rather annoyingly, is the way this non-stop WWE machine churns - things are booked to a strict calendar, not because they make sense as part of an overarching narrative.

That's why, on Sunday, a few things could go badly wrong for everyone on the card. Oh yes. Abandon hope all ye who enter here, because this is a 'Negative Nancy's' paradise. There's scant little positivity - the clue in the title. This is 100% about those nasty "nightmares" that could have people watching through cracks in fingers come bell time.

Anything that can go wrong will go wrong on this list. So, here's every horrific outcome that could feasibly happen...

10. Dolls Take Centre Stage

Correction: WWE's "stupid" dolls.

Charlotte Flair vs. Alexa Bliss would be a solid Raw Women's Title match without the stressful thought that it'll be some pseudo-tag match with Lilly and Charlie. OK, so Flair ripped the latter apart on Monday night, but would anybody be super-shocked if WWE resurrected the toy for some Extreme Rules capers?

It'd be a horror show to rival last year's pay-per-view of the same name if Charlotte vs. Alexa was sullied by a f*cking doll run in. Seriously, read that back then start getting worried. Nobody tell creative what was said here! Nobody! They might just borrow the idea - they did book zombies on pay-per-view earlier this year, after all.

One gets the feeling that this title bout will be totally ruined by Bliss' supernatural stuff, the dolls and something else few are expecting. In fairness, some folks on Twitter did guess that the story was going this way last year...
